I would agree with you there, Drey, but for the fact that I don't. Lucas did an excellent job with his in my book. Once again, it all depends on personal preference. I liked all the graphics of the new films compared to the old; the lightsaber duels were more dynamic; character development was on point -- particularly the transition from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader; the drama within the Senate, under the influence of Palpatine, was pretty intriguing; and I liked the alternative view of the prophecy, which insisted that Anakin was the one who would bring "balance" to the Force -- a prophecy, as Yoda himself had pondered, that could've been misread.

lol. this was perhaps the biggest shortcoming of the prequels. Anakin, who was supposed to be the strongest jedi who goes to the darkside, is a whiney spoiled little brat who has authority issues with his father figure in Ben. Its too trivial and was an opportunity missed for a much better story. It does not do justice to the Vader we see in the originals.

LOL! And tell me, whose almighty opinion is this based on again? Cause it sure ain't mine. As far as Anakin being a "whiney spoiled little brat who has authority issues with his father figure in Ben," I say so the hell what?! It was a gradual progression from the lighthearted child-genius to the power-mad Lord of the Sith that we all came to know and respect in the originals. I mean, what did you want him to be like before he turned to the Dark Side? Some regal lord (despite being only a teenager at the time) with the voice of James Earl Jones, walking around Force-choking everybody who even looked at him the wrong way? And how plausible do you suppose that would've been, compared to a slower, more natural transition from childhood to adulthood?

Ain't it ironic, though, that these grown ass "fans" around here are whining about a character being whiny in some movie trilogy that nobody forced 'em to watch in the first damn place? LOL! First of all, it sounds like some of you had a jaded opinion about prequels to start with. But then you went and watched all three movies anyway? Who put a gun to your head and made you do that? Wouldn't common sense tell you to go spend your money elsewhere, instead of "grudgingly" contributing to Lucas's millions like the rest of his fans? I would certainly think so. Judas Priest!

Terrible acting. Felt nothing for the character. And Jar Jar. The whole prequels answer questions nobody asked, and went on and on about blah blah trade federation.

OK. Thanks for telling us that. So am I now expected to adopt the same attitude about it, because His Awesomness feels that way, or what? No? OK. Well... thanks for telling us that. I thought the actors did a good job myself. Jar Jar kinda annoyed me, but no more than C3PO did in the originals, and if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have seen the underwater kingdom, which I thought was pretty cool. As far as questions being answered that "nobody asked", how do you know what other fans were asking? Did you do some kind of survey that I didn't know about?

Correction: Darth Sidious is a Dark Lord of the Sith. His power of influence was directly attributed to his knowledge of the Dark Side of the Force. Politics was just a stepping stone he used to gain absolute authority over an entire galaxy. I'd say that pretty much qualifies as "some devious force of evil" as opposed to "just another corrupt politician" with strictly mundane resources at his disposal.

Part of Bobba Fett's mystique was in his lack of information and rare screen-time. Now he has a whole terrible backstory.

Once again, who forced you to sit through an entire prequel? If, as you readily admitted, prequels are awful in your opinion, why in the world would you waste your time and money to see one in the first place? Sounds like some of you are just strongly opposed to change, for whatever reason. You like things the way they were, so anything new that comes along is just bound to disappoint. OK, so don't watch it. How hard is that?

And then Anakins eventual transformation was utterly lackluster. Kills some youngin's, kills some sandpeople, because why not...

*sigh* No, not just because why not. It's because -- HELLO? -- they killed his mother, remember?

then bam, darkside, who cares.

I did. I didn't waste my time and money on a trilogy that nobody put a gun to my head and told me to go see. lol. I also didn't go in there with some preconceived notion that all prequels suck, to begin with. I watched the movies, and appreciated them for what they were. Lucas worked hard on those films. Can any of you do a whole helluva lot better? You can? Oh, OK, so what's stopping you then?

You guys are a trip.
