Dec 1 11 5:56 AM	Tags : song, ice Remove this ad I am about half way through the first book, and a thought came to my brain. the winters can be very long some time. does this include the entire planet? if so what do the Dothraki do during this time, and if it does not extend the entire globe couldn't the people move away from the cold that's so lethal. i know they probably dont wanna leave there kingdoms. was mostly wondering what the dothraki did. Dec 1 11 7:00 PM	I do not recall any specific mentions of winter or the dothraki in any of the books but I could be wrong. It most likely has not been approached because there has not been a true winter for many many years. It is very likely that the winters do not effect the other side of the world and they may have something to do with old magic and the wall at least in my opinion it may

Dec 3 11 12:02 PM	I always assumed it was just sort of like an ice age and the other regions were just far enough south to not be affected by the cold. Take a real life example, Florida has always had a mild climate even when the northern portion of the United States and Canada were covered in ice sheets. Florida had a very diverse population of wildlife during the ice age because of it's mild climate.
