Hold on to your hats people, the time you've all been waiting for has arrived. With the help of a dozen or so board members, the winners have been chosen. I present to you all the 2010 RAS Board Awards.
Seems like we have some pretty funny members of the board here, but the two funniest were Drey and Sargai.
It must be those blue eyes and adorable smile, once again Pech has walked off with the Sexiest Male award. (Should we just retire this award?)
/blush Seems that some of the people here have some failing eyesight and voted me Sexiest Female this year. I had some wonderful competition, which should be settled the right way, in a big pool of Jello, what say you, Wyvie, Niyte, Spirit and Fires? We could make a ton off the video.
Our Favorite Ancient seems to be a venerable one... Congrats Marge.
Favorite Oldie was a shock to me, with all the wonderful oldies out there, I had some votes, enough to beat Sargai by two.
Speaking of Sargai, looks like his soulmate Kera, won herself Favorite Newbie.
I'm going to group these two, but it looks like being a Computer Guru has allowed Laethyn to become the board's Most Helpful member also.
While Biggest Geek may not be a title anyone seeks out, I'm sure that BEAST will wear it with pride.
I don't know what Nanron LOUM is doing these days to win Meanest Board member, but maybe he should take a bit more after me, who won Nicest Board member.
Drey once again drank everyone under the table for Board Drunk, I guess showing off the Amount of Awesomeness he seems to possess.
Symphonys Run seems to be the Favorite Name this year.
And thank goodness that Drey comes with a warning label now, all that awesomeness and drunkenness needs it. Seems like most of you agreed since he was the popular pick for Best Signature.
Ave and I will be watching the rest of the awards ceremony from our Dirty Old People thrones, though I'm sure we are just misunderstood.
Looks like Drey might just be the Most Likely to Poke Himself in the Eye With a Stick while he's making all those awesome weapons, probably to defend himself when everyone discovers he's Most Likely to be an Escaped Criminal.
Vion hasn't been around much lately, which might explain why she's gotten (Most) Confused when she does pop back in.
All of our thoughts, prayers, healing waves, good karma vibrations and anything else that will help our Most Missed member Beezer back on his feet are going out in force.
The final award that Drey shall take home tonight is the Most Artistic.
Sargai had better be thinking of sitting down and getting that book written if he's truly going to be Most Likely to be Published.
I'm happy to announce that our Favorite Thread was the “What makes you smile” thread followed very closely by the “Interactive Thread”
I am somewhat shocked that I didn't have many more lighthearted categories to be seen next year. In fact some of them were a bit bitter and some I probably won't include for real next year just because of the potential for offended feelings.
However, there was one that stood out, and not only because I won it, but because it was probably perfectly true.
Most Masochistic- Kammi (after all, you WILL keep torturing yourself, doing these awards every year)
I will admit these are fun, and once I sit down to do them they don't take as long as I fear, it's typing them up with what I hope is amusing commentary that takes the time. Next year I may ask for a volunteer or two to help me with that.
For the rest of you, think that these were the categories nominated to be on next year's ballots and feel free to add a few in the comments if you would like to see them next year, I do scroll through those when coming up with the new ballots each year.
Most Opinionated
“Duh” Threads of the Year- “How many Drizzt Books are there” “What order do I read the books in?”
Most Useless Thread- One word
Least Favorite Thread
And one that I'm going to change up to protect the (not so) innocent....
Most Likely to be Banned.
Those are your awards this year, hope to see you all again next year.
