Then you need to disable the ability for a member to outright delete their own post. In other forums I've been on, that feature is absent, but it doesn't prevent that same member from erasing the content of their post via edit which, in effect, accomplishes the exact same thing. If they want their voices to be erased, they can do so from that method.

But there's no way someone should be permitted to delete a whole friggin discussion. It shouldn't matter that they "started" the topic. Once other members contribute, it's their discussion as well and for a single user to arbitrarily wipe out the entire discussion, including the voices, opinions, and contributions of other members, is insane. How would the community respond if the guy who started the Pic thread all of the sudden appeared out of the blue and just felt like deleting his post? Every photo, all the history, responses, laughs, and praises GONE because ONE person felt he was entitled to deleting it all -- not just his post.

You better fix this problem by killing that delete function, but if you don't think there is a problem, then you're about as dumb as they come.
