We've all seen Drizzt in graphic novel/comic book form, and they were pretty incredible representations of the scenes and the action in the actual novels, I think.

Everybody clamors for a high-budget, live-action movie with a bunch of named stars, and yes if it's done perfectly right it might be very cool. But I just find it hard to believe it would be good, probably mediocre at best, partly because I don't trust Hollywood anymore (for obvious reasons) but mainly because I simply don't think the movie format would do Drizzt's adventure justice. A mini-series (like the HBO Game of Thrones) would be better, but an anime would be best, in my opinion, at capturing the true nature of the Drizzt saga.

Of course I could be wrong, afterall LOTR transition to the big screen was a success, but concerning Drizzt I think a high-budget anime, or animated series if the 'anime' style isn't your thing, with the right voice-actors and battle choreography (think about those excellent Star Wars: The Old Republic CGI trailers, imagine Drizzt and Entreri fighting instead of the jedi, that level of fluidity and beauty in such fierce combat can only be achieved through animation, same idea with an anime) and that would be truly incredible

An anime would cover more ground with the storyline and could theoretically recreate the book scene-by-scene due to it being comprised of many episodes rather than running for 2.5 hours and having to cut much of the details from the stories. But most importantly, an animated series could perfectly capture the fighting sequences, because we all want to see every single blinding scimitar slash and impossible counter within the duels between Drizzt and Entreri. I think only an anime could capture those battle sequences with the sheer speed and ferocity in which they were waged, frankly in which all Drizzt's battles are waged haha.

It's just my honest opinion of the whole Drizzt movie thing, and really I don't know where this kind of anime/series would appear on network TV or maybe something like HBO. My initial thought would be something like Adult Swim on Cartoon Network but that channel has fallen so far from what it used to be and it's obviously geared towards kids or young adults; the Drizzt anime I have in mind certainly wouldn't be dumbed down a bit and I believe all the intense violence and bloody battle sequences should obviously remain.

At any rate, imo the Drizzt anime would be better than a movie at capturing the form of the novels (which is the most important thing right?) but it obviously couldn't have the same effect a real Drizzt movie would have on the masses (newfound incredible popularity like LOTR had on the mainstream population). But hey you can't have your cake and eat it too, right?
