It was during 6 years drizzt and catti-brie were on aboard Sea Sprite?
It will be after end of Transition-maybe many years over?

Well, RAS has said that he likes the main character of Stowaway enough to give him a prolonged cameo in the Pirate King. That seems to indicate that it happens
either during, or before, Transitions.

Here's what Salvatore said about it:
"He wrote a book about a young man whose story intertwines with Drizzt's briefly (think Bruenor, flaming chariot, etc.). " So, that would mean the timeline is waaaaaaay back during The Halfling's Gem. Before Mithral Hall was even reestablished. |

Or maybe it occurs during The Pirate King?

He said THINK about that... not that is WAS that. I don't think WotC would set a book that far back especially with the 4e changes taking place. |

Of course not. That would get people thinking about pre-Spellplague Realms and they can't have that.

Laethyn wrote: I seriously doubt it. RAS made a point of emphasising how his son knows the old Drizzt books better than he does. Also, Bruenor on a flaming chariot and
crossing paths with the Sea Sprite only happens during The Halfling's Gem. It's a no-brainer.

Would I still be able to find the Stoaway a good read even if I am not a little kid?

Why would you need to be a little kid to enjoy it? I don't understand.
Do you enjoy the Drizzt novels?

Both The Hobbit and The Chronicles of Narnia are considered to be in the "young reader" category. Obviously millions of adults enjoy these books.

Hi Packersfan,
I just thought i'd let you know that I read books for "all ages" or "teen/young adult" all the time.(as well as the regular stuff.) I love them all! Shoot, some of the "younger" stuff is really good!! (you'd barely even know the difference.) Also, most of the ones i've read are normal sized books, 375-700 pages with very in depth stories. Like the classic ones Traycor mentioned, and like the "Inkheart series" by Cornelia Funke or the "Inheritance Cycle" by Paolini or the "Redwall books" by Brian Jacques, or Angie Sage's "Septimas Heap series", or "The Mistmantle Chronicles" by MI McAllister, or "His Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman, & don't forget... Harry Potter. And the list goes on and on and on... Dont let the "written for young readers" fool ya... give it a shot! I'll bet you'll be glad you did. Its nice to leave the 'heavy' stuff behind sometimes & pick up an easy to read, "younger reader" book... just for the fun of it, just for the pure fantasy of it. You know? I cant wait to read the Stowaway!!
Happy reading!! Kir
"Ye're bats!" Ivan
yelled. "Ye can't be one of them!" "Doo-dad!" Pikel replied indignantly. "Ye think they'd have ye?" Ivan roared.
"Tell him, boy!" he cried at Cadderly, who had just entered the kitchen. "Tell the fool that dwarves can't be druids!"
"You want to be a druid?" Cadderly asked with interest. "Oo-oi!" piped a happy Pikel. "Doo-dad!" ~R.A. Salvatore, The Cleric Quintet ~ Canticle: chapter 11~ Come see the Fantasy Art Collection on 'my profile'... a mixture of AMAZING Artists!!

Well,my guess was six-years long pause between Siege of Darkness a Passage to the Dawn, but in light of your informations-who knows?
Actually, theory about events of Stowaway after Halfling Gem and about appereance of his character in Pirate King seems good for me... |
